The Asanga Institute (named after one of the most influential teachers in Buddhist history) is dedicated to preserving the essence of Buddhist teachings through the intensive study of a wide array of traditional disciplines.  In this process, we are committed to establishing a balance of academic and experiential training essential to an authentic spiritual path.
Our programs emphasize the great works of Indian and Tibetan Buddhism and incorporate a thorough study of Tibetan language and translation.

In the West, there is a shortage of opportunities for individuals to engage in Buddhist academic studies.  Alongside other emerging educational institutes in the West, The Asanga Institute of Buddhist Studies hopes to help bridge this gap and bring resources and instruction within the reach of committed translators, students, and practitioners.
